In the first three months of 2019, we collected "change for change" donations for Action for Animals Human Society. Big shout-out to our fabulous customers who gave $176!!
Beginning in April and through June, our customers are "rounding-up to make a difference" for Greenacres Garden - a Ligonier group who raises fresh and healthy produce for the Westmoreland County Food Bank as well as for other local groups and charitable organizations.
Pat and H Childs developed the "Change for Change" program to raise donations for area charities through their business G Squared Gallery. "Change for Change" asks customers if they would like to donate their change or “cents,” rounded up to the next dollar, from their purchase. The “cents” are donated to a local nonprofit. A new charity is selected each quarter based on input from G Squared’s social media followers.
About Greenacres Garden
The garden is an ongoing experiment, whose pilot growing season began in May 2018. Utilizing values such as collaboration, learning, fun, service, and community, the folks at Greenacres Garden are exploring the extent to which it is possible to provide people with fresh, nutritional produce while harnessing individual and group resources such as space, time, materials, energy, money, and know-how. They are gardeners of all experience levels seeking others who are intrigued by this idea, and who will give happily of their own time and talents to help donate the seasonal fruits of their labors.
